Disk Drill 3 Announces Support of MacOS Sierra and Data Recovery on iOS 10 Devices

September 2, 2016

Another year, another major update of OS X from Apple. This time it is macOS Sierra, Version 10.12, the successor of several editions of Mac OS X available since 2001. In preparation for its public release, due in the fall, CleverFiles announces immediate full support of the new Apple's OS with the release of Disk Drill 3, a new version of one of the most distinctive data recovery apps on the net.

The new release by the team of data recovery experts includes many high-demand improvements in addition to supporting the latest update of the Mac operating system. One of these perks is iOS data recovery. From Version 3, Disk Drill adds iPhones and iPads into its portfolio of supported devices. Disk Drill can recover lost data from iOS 10 devices as well, the minimum compatible version being iOS 5.

"We usually see the largest increase in accidental data losses during peaks of Mac OS X updates," says JR Belden, project lead for Disk Drill, "Interestingly, the major cause of this is usually third-party drivers for multiple types and models of external and additional internal hard drives that are not updated to support the latest Apple cores on time, like macOS Sierra in this case. Our team worked hard with every Beta release from Apple, and we are ready to announce Disk Drill full compatibility with macOS 10.12. It's ready to recover your deleted or disappeared data as effectively as always."

The new release of Disk Drill officially comes with a few major compatibility updates, like the new macOS and iOS, as well as improved support for EXT4 and ExFAT file systems, new partition recovery modules, better disk surface scans, faster backups and more. The update to Disk Drill 3 is fully automated. Premium users with Disk Drill PRO or Enterprise may be entitled to a free or discounted upgrade to version 3, and should check the upgrade matrix available at http://help.cleverfiles.com.

Disk Drill users should upgrade to Version 3 to get their data recovery software ready for macOS Sierra. The new release ensures the best data retrieval and protection technology ever.
