RoboTask 5.0: Automation Solution with Unprecedented Flexibility and Unlimited PotentialNeowise Software has announced the release of RoboTask 5.0, a new version of a powerful and flexible task automation program for Windows. It enables the user to easily create both simple tasks and complex combinations, thus automating routine actions and saving time.
"We like RoboTask for four reasons: it uses very few system resources it is easy to use but offers rich and complex functionality; it is robust; and finally, it is inexpensive", - says Mark Gibbs, a Network World columnist, in his detailed review of the program.
How does it work?
Unlike simple automation tools, RoboTask does not capture keystrokes and mouse movements. The user should just compose a task by selecting the necessary actions from the list and specify what events should trigger it (no knowledge of scripting language is required!). The range of supported actions includes more than 100 various operations: for example, with the help of RoboTask you can automatically launch applications, open and print documents, check and send emails, upload and download files, pack and unpack archives, synchronize folders, perform back up, ping hosts, etc. All the actions are grouped by categories and presented as an expandable tree, which is very easy to navigate.
Moreover, RoboTask supports creation of complex tasks with conditional if-then-else statements, loops and custom user variables. Many advanced options contribute to the program's effectiveness and flexibility, making RoboTask stand out from the rest of similar tools. The fact is, with the help of RoboTask it is possible to automate almost everything - except for creative work, of course.
All the tasks can be triggered manually or by preset triggering events, which are quite numerous and versatile. Besides specified date and time there are also cyclic triggers, hotkeys, certain system events (such as low battery), changes in the status of Internet connection and many others. It should be noted that RoboTask can run as an NT service, performing tasks even when the user is not logged on.
In addition to this, the long-awaited client-server feature has been added in version 5.0. It enables the user to control remote Robotask on another computer: to create and manage tasks, to view logs, to edit global variables and to adjust some global settings.
Apart from the main features and options, RoboTask users may also avail themselves of the free add-on library. For instance, those users who are able to write small scripts on Basic can use the Basic plug-in to incredibly extend the program functionality.
Actually, Robotask would be handy for almost any active PC user. By the way, it is most often used by small and medium-sized enterprises, though designers, programmers, system administrators and home users also comprise a considerable proportion.
Key Advantages of RoboTask:
- Rich functionality with virtually unlimited potential;
- Very few system resources are required (4Mb of RAM and about 7Mb of free disk space);
- Affordable price;
- Clear interface;
- Fast, high-quality support.
